Restaurant Comment
Dad has an article from the NY Times from 11/17/02 that says this about the restaurant Le Pre Catalan: “Dining beneath the chestnut trees on the terrace of this fanciful pavillon in the Bois de Boulogne is a Belle Epoque fantasy. Chef Frederic Anton has brought new life to the cuisine of this venerable establishment, and you can find winners such as spit-roasted baby pigeon in a caramelized sauce, sweetbreads with morls and asparagus tips, and roast pear on a caramelized waffle with bergamot ice cream. Unfortunately, other dishes are decidedly lackluster. The opulent surroundings may take your mind off that limp turbot. Reservations essential. Jacket and tie.”
Since it’s very expensive, maybe we ought to cross it off our list since this isn’t exactly a raving review. Dad thinks they might have reprinted this from Fodors.
